 History- Swim Things started as an outlet for competitive swimsuits. Our owner, Chuck Baldwin, was a swim team coach for many local groups as well as facility manager for commercial swimming pools. As the need grew for supplies for all of these teams and pools, Chuck decided to become a Speedo dealer and provide product to his swimmers. As the need for renovation of his commercial pool accounts rose, it was necessary to start repairing these aging pools. That expertise led to the building of new inground swimming pools, which started in 1979. Since that point Swim Things has developed into the largest pool builder in the Kansas City metro area. Not only building pools but also offering full service needs to over 1,000 customers per season. We added our 5,000 sq. ft. retail store in 1988 and it continues to be a staple for customers in the area.
Philosophy-We attempt to provide complete service of your swimming pool needs. We expect to do that in a professional, timely and accurate manner. From the time we build your pool and through the years of service and into renovation, we are able to supply you with all the tools necessary to give you a great backyard experience for many years to come.
Staff-

Amy Davenport- Office Manager and HR Manager, Amy oversees all of the retail store operation as well as overseeing all financial accounting of the company. Vince Davenport- Vice President and General Manager, Vince oversees retail store operations specifically focusing on Spa Sales, Inside pool sales, Chemicals and replacement parts. Brad Harding-Service Department Manager, Brad coordinates all aspects of our service department including Openings, Closings, Weekly Service, and Renovation. Mike Mittie- Service Department Coordinator, Mike is the operations manager of our service department. He oversees all of the daily schedule for the openings, closings and equipment repair. Kristy Findley- Competitive Swimteam Sales, Kristy takes care of all of our swimteam sales and helps to facilitate the day to day needs of over 30 swim teams in the area. Heather Harding- Fashion Swimwear Buyer, Heather takes care of our fashion swimwear department, which includes buying, displays, and coordination. Brian Porter- Construction Foreman- Brian is one of our construction foreman, he has 27 years experience in the field of pool construction. He handles unique and difficult challenges everyday.
